This year’s National Endowment for the Humanities 2013 Jefferson Lecture will be delivered by director Martin Scorsese. The annual Jefferson Lecture, sponsored by NEH, is the most prestigious honor the federal government bestows for distinguished intellectual achievement in the humanities. Mr. Scorsese, of course, needs no introduction, but a significant factor in his selection has been his advocacy and involvement in film preservation.
Scorsese’s team contacted CFA for images from CFA’s Hiawatha preservation project, completed in 2010 with help from Colorlab, one of the very few labs in the world who continue to do photo-chemical film preservation.
