we love: a CFA installation
In 2023, in collaboration with the Chicago Transit Authority, Chicago Film Archives introduced we love, a filmic installation of home movies and amateur films selected from collections housed and preserved at CFA.
Scores of families from Chicago and the region were reflected in this exhibition of films documenting and celebrating our everyday lives. Manifesting love, belonging, and safety, we love was an homage to home movie makers and the people who ride CTA trains every day.
The exhibition was installed at the CTA’s Cicero Green Line station in March 2023 and will be viewable there through March 2026.
The content of the we love installation comprised nearly an hour of footage from CFA films, projected in an endless loop. You can view the loop as it was projected in the Cicero Green Line station below.
