Chicago Open Archives: Yours To Explore

October 6, 2016 from 3-3:45pm

CFA is excited to participate in Chicago Open Archives: Yours to Explore, a second annual event from Chicago Area Archivists (CAA)! Over thirty local archives, research centers, and cultural institutions in the Chicago area will offer special events open to members of the public on October 6-8, 2016. Chicago Open Archives: Yours to Explore is an opportunity to discover unique historical materials and engage with archivists, librarians, and museum curators.

Since 1982, CAA has worked to provide opportunities for local archivists, historians, librarians and others in the Chicago metro area to meet together for discussion, social interaction, and education. Its membership include archivists, librarians, and records managers in academic, corporate, governmental, institutional, library, and museum settings.

The second annual Chicago Open Archives event connects visitors with archives during American Archives Month, a movement promoted by the Society of American Archivists, and is modeled from similar events in Portland, Sacramento, and Cambridge.
