Abstract
A parody of Ingmar Bergman films. An elderly Viktor reminisces about an event in his youth concerning his lover/sister Inga who plays a game of badminton with Death. If he wins he takes her life. Involves non-sequitors about family drama and a recurring theme of a dove defecating on people. Subtitled over a satirical version of the Swedish language.

00:08 - Fade into a still that reads: 1968 Societe Du Cinematographe. Pan-Europa Destival Du Cinema. 00:20 - Titles over LS of dove flying in the air followed by a PAN of bare trees. Cut back and forth between these images until a car comes into view and the dove coos. Still on the car with the title “De Duva”, subtitled “The Dove”. 00:56 - Car drives as title fades. Interior MCU of car. Chauffer stops and exits car to wipe dove excrement off the window. The passenger in back asks to take the long way to the old house, even though it will make him late. 01:53 - MLS car driving. TS of bare trees as man narrates his history, identifying himself as Viktor Sundqvist. 02:34 - Fade to car entering a gate. MS PAN to follow car as it pulls up to a house. Viktor gets out of the car and exits frame. 03:26 - LS of Viktor walking through a yard, camera tracking his path, as he come to an outhouse in MS. His voice over says that he has come to a time in his life when he needs to set aside his dreams and really look at his life. 03:58 - MS, LA as he enters the outhouse followed by var. MCU inside outhouse. Viktor finds a dead dove at his feet and picks it up. CU on his face with dove in frame. Ripple dissolve into a memory. 05:10 - Viktor exits same outhouse but younger and in spring. His sister, Inga, is in MS in the foreground as he runs to join her. They kiss as narrator (the elderly Viktor) says she is troubled. 05:41 - MS of man with cow. PAN of other people seated at an outdoor picnic. They are identified as his uncle, cousin Sigfried and their friends. One man plays the accordian. 05:57 - Various CU and MCU on company as they sing. Sigfried appears upset and bothers Inga. When Viktor offers Inga a rose she flees. 06:46 - CU of Sigfried, troubled. She looks in a broken mirror, narrating that someday Inga will love her. Var. MS of uncle and Sigfried, who hints at an improper relationship between him and his cow. CU of uncle with cow. Subtitle says “moo”. 07:24 - LS as Inga runs to a tree and is joined by Viktor. They talk in MS. CU of Inga’s face as she speaks about her bad dream of a rose dying. They hear a dove and it defecates on Viktor’s face in CU. Inga flees again. 08:39 - LS as Viktor runs across a field to follow her. He falls. 08:51 - Var. MLS, CU and HA of the couple running through the forest. Inga eventually stops, looking up. 09:26 - MLS of a pale man in a cape. It is death who has come for Inga. Var. CU and MCU of the conversation between the three people. Viktor makes a deal that Inga and Death will play badminton for her life. Fade out. 10:27 - Fade in to badminton game. Var. MS and CU of Death and Inga playing. 11:35 - Ball bounces off Death as a dove cries out of frame and defecates on him. MCU as Death hits the dove, feathers flying. 11:46 - Inga and Viktor flee happily to the forest as Death pouts. MS of Death as he picks up the dead dove and walks away, making a wry comment about dry cleaning. 12:31 - LS of a lake through the trees in the forest. Inga and Viktor run to the water. Cut to MCU of the couple in the lake, kissing. They hear a dove and look up, alarmed. They are relieved that it is a different dove. Ripple fade back to the present. 13:17-14:16 - The elderly Viktor exits outhouse in MLS and walks out of frame. ZOOM IN on outhouse door as title fades in, reading “Endsk”. Accordian music plays over credits.
