Abstract
This film shows a series of highlights between the Chicago White Sox and the Oakland Athletics and the Chicago Cubs and Pittsburgh Pirates in the spring and summer of 1977.
1977 was a banner year for both Chicago baseball teams. In late July of that year the Cubs and White Sox were ranked number one in their divisions, and the prospect of an all Chicago World Series had baseball fans in the city wild with excitement. In true Chicago sports fashion, both teams flamed out and would end the season in third and fourth places, but the summer of 1977 remains a highlight in Chicago baseball history.

Description
The film begins with a game between the Chicago White Sox and the Oakland Athletics. In the first scene, Sox infielder Alan Bannister (#7) hits a fly ball to center field. In the second scene, Sox infielder Kevin Ball (#8) attempts to slide into home plate, but is blocked by Oakland catcher Manny Sunguillen (#35). The crowd boos as the umpire calls the out and White Sox coaches attempt to reason with the umpire.
The second part of the film shows a game between the Chicago Cubs and the Pittsburgh Pirates. Cubs infielder Manny Trillo (#19) delivers a base hit, bringing in a run for the Cubs. The next scenes show Cubs infielder Larry Biittner (#26), outfielder Jerry Morales (#24), and catcher George Miterwald (#15) making hits and bringing in four runs for the Cubs.
The third game in the film is again between the White Sox and Oakland Athletics. Sox infielder Kevin Bell (#8) hits the ball to left field where it is fumbled and dropped by the Oakland outfielder. This brings in a run. At the end of the film umpires, players, and coaches can be seen debating the call.
