Home Movies
Chicago Film Archives was established in 2003 to preserve the Midwest’s moving image heritage. In addition to collecting films by commercial, experimental and documentary filmmakers, CFA is particularly interested in home movies and other amateur work. We believe these films provide a valuable historical record of everyday life in the Midwest that needs to be cared for and handed down to future generations. That is why the Chicago Film Archives has made the collection and preservation of home movies and amateur films a central part of its mission.
