Abstract
A film of the funeral of Michael Todd, well known as the producer of Around the World in 80
Days
(1956).
Description
The film begins with a view of Midway Airport in Chicago, and the arrival of a TWA plane.
Michael Todd’s widow, actress Elizabeth Taylor, is escorted down the steps by her brother Howard. A brief view is shown of the exterior of Michael Todd’s Cinestage Theater in downtown Chicago, located on Dearborn between Randolph and Lake Streets. A sign hangs at the theater indicating its closure in memory of Michael Todd. The film concludes with footage of Todd’s casket as it is carried past crowds toward its burial location. A distraught Taylor is helped away by escorts.

Following Todd’s private plane’s fatal crash, he was buried in Forest Park’s Jewish Beth Aaron Cemetery, but his remains were moved to an undisclosed location after his grave was vandalized in June 1977.
