This film captures the Chicago Fire Department's response to a building fire at the intersection of S. Fairfield Ave and W. Cermak Rd. near the conclusion of the 23-day firemen's strike that began at 5:15 a.m. on Thursday, February 14, 1980. Footage include shots of fire equipment, firemen as they work to contain the fire, the remnants of the building which include a mural by Raul Villanueva, and reporting on the scene WLS-TV Channel 7's Rosemarie Gulley.
