Abstract

A film without discernible dialogue that explores Stage II Designs, a custom garment screen printing shop located in Addison, IL, which prints t-shirt designs that support U.S. citizen release during the 1979 Iran hostage crisis.

Description

Opening footage displays the storefront of Stage II Designs, a custom garment screen printing shop in Addison, IL, which specializes in t-shirts, jerseys, fashion wear, jackets, transfers, and die cut lettering. The following scene carefully observes the shop’s workers as they pull squeegees across screens, extract freshly inked t-shirts, and pass them through conveyor dryers. The t-shirts are revealed to feature various designs including, “Iran Let Our People Go” and “Public Enemy No. 1” printed beneath a stencil silhouette of Ayatollah Khomeini. The film concludes as the t-shirts are folded up and prepared for sale.
