This film contains footage from a 1971 football game between the University of Illinois Illini and the University of Washington Huskies as well as a brief interview with University of Illinois Coach Bob Blackman.
The film begins with a shot of an unknown University of Illinois football player. The second scene is of the football field with the University of Illinois on offense near the end zone. The Illini attempt to score, but fail due to an incomplete pass. The next scene shows the Illini on defense and an interception by an Illini player who then runs the ball back for a touchdown.

After some celebrations on the field, the scene switches to show ABC News Channel 7 reporter Frank Mathie interviewing Illini coach Bob Blackman. Blackman, in his first season as coach at the University of Illinois, describes a difficult start to the season with the Illini facing teams ranked in the top 10 nationally in the first four weeks, with some upcoming tough games against Ohio State, Michigan, Purdue, and Northwestern. Despite this, Blackman reports the team morale is high and he is hopeful for some upsets.
