Abstract
Black and white outtakes of a press conference in Chicago with Sir Edmund Hillary and two other members of the expedition (including one of the local Nepalese Sherpas) that went to Nepal in 1960 to retrieve a yeti scalp. They show the press the scalp and discuss its history and the scientific research they will carry out to determine if it is genuine.
In the folklore of Nepal, the Yeti or Abominable Snowman is an ape-like creature taller than an average human that is said to inhabit the Himalayan and Siberian regions of East Asia. The scalp had been kept in a Nepalese temple and had been a venerated object for more than 200 years. Hillary was the first man to reach the summit of Mount Everest in 1953.
