Abstract
Silent news outtakes capturing the destruction caused by a wind storm in Ann Arbor, Michigan on May 11, 1959. Includes footage of firefighters breaking down and moving fallen trees with chainsaws and cranes. One person was killed, dozens of houses were damaged, and hundreds of trees were toppled by the storm (which was not in fact a tornado, but "a very severe line squall").
