Abstract
Queen Elizabeth II tours the Art Institue of Chicago on July 6, 1959.

The Queen and Prince Philip were on a 15,000-mile, 45-day tour along the St. Lawrence Seaway visiting all Canadian provinces and four of the Great Lakes, including a 14-hour stop in Chicago. This was their only American stop and was the first visit of a reigning British monarch to the Windy City.
Description
Board member William McCormick Blair leads Queen Elizabeth II, Prince Philip, Chicago mayor Richard J. Daley, Illinois governor William Statton, and others through the halls of the Art Institute of Chicago. The camera pans down the length of El Greco's The Assumption of the Virgin. The Queen and Prince sign a book at a podium and exit onto Michigan Avenue, greeted by a large crowd. Prince Philip talks with Shirley Stratton and Eleanor Daley in the backseat of a convertible, pointing at something.
