Abstract
Scenes of Chicago's International Ampitheatre being prepped for the 1960 National Convention of the Republican Party, which was held July 25 to July 28.
Description
Workers construct podiums, arrange cables and hang banners in the empty ampitheatre. They cut wood in a shop and construct a stage. A large banner reading "100 Years of Progress" has been hung. Much elephant iconography. A man hand-paints signs with each state's name and stacks them to dry. Exterior shot of Becker Brothers Studios.
