Description

The film begins as Léopold Sédar Senghor, President of the Republic of Senegal, exits an airplane that has just arrived in Washington, D.C. during his trip to the United States, October 30-November 4, 1961. President John F. Kennedy greets him at the foot of the stairs. Concluding footage shows Kennedy as he delivers a speech that welcomes Senghor to the United States and honors his achievements.
