He briefly provides his opinions regarding the ongoing Republic Convention in Chicago, July 25-28, 1960, the Treaty of Fifth Avenue agreed upon by Vice President Richard Nixon and New York Governor Nelson Rockefeller, the ongoing presidential campaign, and President Dwight Eisenhower’s statement that the Republican Party must become a “middle of the road” party. When the interview concludes, Stevenson promptly departs toward a nearby airplane.
