Abstract
A home movie with intertitles presumably shot by Chicago cameraman, Frank Koza. The film documents the first-ever day of school at the Queen of All Saints School, a Catholic elementary school founded in 1940 and located on Chicago's north side at 6227 North Keene Avenue. The reel begins with an introduction of various nuns, or faculty, of the school followed by footage of young students arriving at the school. As the children arrive, the grounds are still noticeably under construction, with children traversing piles of rubble and construction men still hard at work. Also featured in the film is footage of a newly purchased school bus, a children's Halloween parade and scenes of the completed construction and landscaping of the school. The film ends with a shot of a priest, Rev. Francis J. Dolan, staring at the building preceded with an intertitle that reads, "his ambitions realized."
