An observational portrait of the August 13, 1969 parade held in celebration of Apollo 11 astronauts Neil Armstrong, Edwin “Buzz” Aldrin, Jr., and Michael Collins. Focused on the crowds of people gathered along the parade route in downtown Chicago and set, in part, to Wagner’s “Ride of the Valkyries,” Your Astronauts contains many shots of landmark buildings along the Chicago River including the Tribune Tower, Marina Towers, and the modernist Seventeenth Church of Christ, Scientist, building on the corner of Wacker Drive and Wabash Avenue. While the astronauts are seen for a few brief moments, Palazzolo focuses his attention on the people gathered for the celebration.
