Abstract
A visit to Chicago's Garfield Park Conservatory captured on 16mm and set to a soothing soundtrack. The film features various show rooms or houses at the conservatory as well as visitors of all ages admiring various plants, flowers and water features.
Abstract
Funded in part by Encyclopedia Brittanica, these short spots were directed by local cameraman, producer, and journalist Harry Mantel – most likely for public television broadcast. These films are portraits he constructed of the city and its people. This particular reel contains the following vignettes: “Art Fair”, “Fire”, “Air Traffic Controller”, “Waiters”, “Monkeys”, “Flower Conservatory[?]” and “Circus”.
