A collection of experimental films and home movies created by Chicago-based photographer and Institute of Design alum, Robert Stiegler. The collection also contains numerous 1/4" audio reel to reels. It is unclear at this time whether these audio reels are original recordings created by Stiegler.

A Chicago native, Robert Stiegler (1938-1990) received a bachelors and a masters degree at the Institute of Design at the Illinois Institute of Technology. He began teaching at University of Illinois Chicago in 1966 and was active in the development of the school's photography program. Stiegler was a filmmaker and photographer who received numerous grants, including ones from the National Endowment for the Arts and the Illinois Arts Council. Select photographs by Stiegler are in several museum collections, including the Art Institute of Chicago and the Museum of Modern Art in New York.
