Abstract
This film documents heavy snowfall in Chicago on February 3, 1961.
Description
This film begins with shots of the Chicago River beneath the Wabash Avenue Bridge and the Chicago Sun-Times building visible in the background. Footage shows municipal trucks dumping excess snow into the river, and tractors clearing N. State St. near the State-Lake Theatre and the Chicago Theatre. The film concludes with footage of residents clearing snow on the Far North Side, and includes a brief shot of Queen of All Saint School.

In reaction to 6-7.5 inches of snowfall, the city utilized 400 pieces of snow plowing and removal equipment and 1,000 personnel. The city estimated the snow removal cost between $600,000 and 700,000.
