Abstract
At the Butler County Fair, the camera captures several vendors and their products for The Grange —a semi-religious fraternal organization prevalent in agricultural communities; in this case southwest Ohio. In a barn, a variety of goods are assembled for sale. The camera focuses on handcrafted trinkets, clothing and prize-winning harvested produce.
Description
The film begins by depicting various goods on display. Fair goers can be seen relaxing in chairs as well as conversing and embracing one another. The camera depicts Robert Dockum's mother managing a booth. The film continues to capture the prized goods neatly arragned for sale, items including: fruits and vegetables, cakes, clothing, decor etc..The shot switches to the organization’s poster presentation, one poster is labeled ‘ACHIEVEMENTS’ and another 'GOALS' the camera focuses on the latter.The camera pans down a long list of values; “World Peace Through Brotherhood” and “Equal Opportunity In Rural Education” can be seen.
